Small gifts for book lovers

Magnetic bookmarks fold over the page and grip it, which means they do not fall out when the book goes in a bag — the single failure mode of the flat card bookmark everybody already owns. That is the entire case for the format and it is a good one.

This is the pack that publishes its dimensions. Ten centimeters by three and a half is large enough to find and small enough not to stick out of a paperback, and knowing that before you buy is more than most of this aisle offers.

Rounded corners are mentioned for a reason. A square-cornered magnetic marker left in a book for a month presses a mark into the page; a rounded one is less inclined to. It is a small design decision and this listing is one of the few that explains it.
