1. What this site is

Shelf Gift is an independent publication about gifts for readers, published by Slate Mill Group. It is editorial content. It is not a shop, not a marketplace, and not a professional advisory service of any kind.

2. We do not sell anything

Every purchase made through a link here is a transaction between you and the retailer. They take your payment, they hold your order, and their terms, warranty, delivery and returns policies apply. We are not a party to it and cannot help with an order, a delivery or a return.

3. What the information here is worth, and what it is not

Specifications on this site are quoted from sellers’ own listings on the dates stated on each page. We do not verify them independently and we have not handled any of the products — our methodology page sets out exactly what we do instead.

Listings change without notice. Prices, availability, compatibility and specifications may differ by the time you read a page. Check the retailer’s current listing before you buy. Where a page states a compatibility limit — a Kindle generation, a book size, a load rating — that is quoted from the seller and confirming it is your purchase decision, not ours.

Scores here are editorial opinion held to a published definition. They are not measurements and should not be read as any.

4. No professional advice

Nothing on this site is medical, legal, financial or other professional advice. Pages that touch on eye comfort, posture or grip are general information compiled from published guidance, and they say so. No product mentioned here is a medical device, and none is described as treating, helping or being designed for any condition. If you have a health concern, speak to a qualified professional.

5. Affiliate relationship

We earn commissions from qualifying purchases made through links on this site, disclosed in full on the disclosure page, in a line above the first affiliate link on every commercial page, and with an #ad marker on every buy button. It does not change what we rank or what we tell you to skip.

6. External links

We link to retailers, manufacturers and third-party sources such as standards and government bodies. We do not control any of those sites and are not responsible for their content, their accuracy or their practices. A link is not an endorsement of anything beyond the specific point it is cited for.

7. Your use of this site

You may read, print and share pages for personal use, and quote from them with attribution and a link. You may not republish substantial parts of this site, scrape it at scale, or present its content as your own. The text, structure, scoring system and compiled data here are ours; product photography is supplied by the retailer’s own data feed and belongs to its rights holders.

8. Availability

We make no promise that this site will be available, complete or error-free at any given moment. We correct errors when we find them and when readers report them — our corrections policy covers how.

9. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Shelf Gift and Slate Mill Group are not liable for any loss arising from your use of this site or from a purchase made through it. That includes loss arising from a specification that turned out to be wrong, a product that did not fit, or a retailer’s conduct. Your remedy for a purchase is with the retailer.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The date at the top of the page changes when we do, and continued use of the site after that constitutes acceptance.
